Learning to love oneself, inside and out. I think this is something most people go through at some point.

I've struggled with an eating disorder most of my life. The one thing that is really helping me is yoga. I didn't expect it would help like it has. The mind body connection is powerful. Do you have something like that you could give a try. Even on YouTube or websites? Pampering helps a bit, and can help us in transition, but it's a temporary fix.

I avoid media, and things of that nature because of my eating disorder and self perception problems, that in itself helps a ton. I don't need it to be in my face or head constantly.

You don't look old to me, not at all. You have that youthful glow and beautiful eyes. Try to take pride in your uniqueness. None of us look alike and that's special. I always used to worry that I had a big nose, it's not that big but it really got to me, but you know, it's my nose, no one else has it, it gives me my unique look and now I'm just going to embrace that. Same with my teeth, they are a bit crooked and one was chipped in the center, a body piercer once said " hey you've got really cool teeth, love the chip... Adds character" haha seriously, unusual maybe but I took her compliment an ran with it. I did get the chip fixed a few years later, but I took what she said and applied it.

When someone does give you a compliment. Try to accept it. We get into a habit of disbelieving. Try to believe it. When someone says, " hey you have beautiful eyes" later at some point go look at your eyes in a mirror, notice the unique shape, colour, life in them. You might be able to agree even " yup I got beautiful eyes! "
