I confess I know nothing about meds, but I have a pretty bad temper myself, and this is usually how I try to deal with it:

1) Take a deep breath, close your eyes, and try to picture a calming scene

2) Take a piece of paper and write down everything that makes you mad, why it pisses you off, and why you are so much better than everything and everyone on that list.

3) If you're still mad when you're done writing, take the paper and crumble it into a ball or tear it into pieces.

4) If none of that works, take a walk and get some exercise. Sometimes channeling your energy toward something else will help you.

For what it's worth, that stuff usually helps me. I know that rage can be a nasty feeling, and I wish you luck in dealing with it.
