Here in California, USA, you can get a medical marijuana card that allows you to buy from clubs and grow your own...for medicinal purposes. To get said card, you have to get a doctor's recommendation, which is similar to a prescription. There are places specifically devoted to writing these recs, with their own cannabis-friendly mds, and most require only some proof from an outside md that you are being treated for the ailment you claim to get the card. I did have an OBGYN doctor offer to prescribe cannabis directly when I was younger (for chronic pelvic pain), but I was too hesitant to accept at the time. When I got older, and more comfortable with my own cannabis use, I went through the legal California medical marijuana card system and claimed "Anxiety, Appetite Loss, and SU depression" as my ailments. The card doc. simply asked me how I felt Cannabis was beneficial in treating my depression, and I told her honestly that at times it is the only way for me to break out of a SU quagmire and prevent SI. The doctors here do recognize the potential for negative reactions to cannabis in depressed patients, but they also recognize the potential for good. That's my story...and US gov: plz don't give me $h!+ for operating within the legal and medical parameters of my state...just trying to help!
Thanks for this!
