If you think it will be good for you to have a long stay in a psychiatric hospital (state hospital, yes) then go for it. One suggestion, get a friend or family member to take care of your financial affairs, home, pets while you are gone. Bills still need to be paid, pets need care, home needs to be checked on. It would be hard to arrange it after you are admitted.
