Both my husband and myself have bipolar. One of the things I notice we both do sometimes when maybe a bit manic, is go on non-stop rants but, think it is funny. It really is just angry, criticisms of the world but, to the one doing it, it is a long monologue of funny materials. Total lack of insight into how it is coming across.
One thing we find each other saying to the other is, "You're doing that thing again where you think you're being funny but, it isn't. You're just being angry and hey you're not sleeping? Are you getting a bit manicky?"
We're married ever so happily so, we obviously have some personality traits in common and sardonic sense of humor is definitely something we share but, this particular thing where it crosses from funny to rants of pure cynicism seems to be associated with bipolar symptoms.
Anyone else get that or something like it matching their own view point?
