Perna is right. Anger can help get us motivated into doing something about the depression! It also worked for me. For YEARS I was so depressed, sad, maudlin, etc., that I couldn't even stand myself! Finally I got MAD and did what I should have done years before --- I called a therapist! I began therapy and it helped! But after a couple of years, my therapist suggested that I speak with my doctor because I was still having too many 'episodes' so I did, and I've been on medication ever since. But I continued with therapy.
