As an Army officer (and the only female in an all-male unit) I have had to become a leader. I am physically small and am a very quiet, introverted, low energy type of person but to my surprise my soldiers like and respect me. There are all kinds of leadership styles, but people will respect you and follow you if you prove that you are knowledgeable and willing to work hard. The Army can (and has) written books about the various leadership styles and even they recognize that there can be more than one way to get the job done.
