My "GP" is a Nurse Practitioner, and she's wonderful. One of the great things about working with her, is that she's not rushed to see as many patients as possible, like doctors can be. So she's able to spend time with me and address any concerns I have. And perhaps this is more her personality than what her training is, but I find she's pretty easy to talk to, and accepting of my lifestyle differences (kink, polyamory, LGBT, etc). She doesn't tell me I must take meds, but rather tells me what my options she recommends and allows me to decide for myself.
