Just remember that it takes TWO to fight. If one doesn't want to fight, then there won't be one. You can't fight alone. 
If he wants to have a "snit" --- just let him carry on.  If you don't pay attention to him, he'll get tired of doing it and he'll stop. You can always leave the room.
If he does the opposite of what you BOTH have agreed upon, perhaps you two aren't really right for each other afterall.  Seems to me like he likes to start trouble. I'm not sure I could live with someone like that for very long. You might want to sit down and talk about the future of your relationship.
