I dont have a medical hearing loss (which is not hearing due to trauma or nerve damage, punctured ear drum....)
but when I have dissociated things become muffled. I'm told by my treatment providers sometimes that happens with some people who dissociate because they are shutting out/blocking the things/people around them that they can not handle. after I learned how to "ground" myself back to the present moment my hearing improved /goes back to normal.
For me a hearing evaluation was part of my diagnostic process for DID, because they had to rule out all other medical and mental problems being the cause /symptoms of / for my dissociative issues.
