Female exams are not the most enjoyable experience but doctors are professionals who understand. They are important even though they are perhaps embarrassing. By all means have a nurse stay with you. I have always had a nurse there as a matter of course. In my area that is standard procedure, especially if the doctor is a man. Good luck and I wish you well
