From what you say it sounds like you didn't have anything in writing from the other person who has left? Hopefully you won't have to go through this again, since it's a hard lesson to learn. Is there anyway you can advertise to find a replacement? Maybe once social services responds, there will be some emergency monies available. Good wishes!
