I hear you buddy, abuse is abuse and if you have been hit that is a big NO NO. I certainly do not or would not stand for any kind of physical abuse. Once that line is crossed I agree it's very hard to move forward. I know you're scared to tell her in person but it's the right way to handle it out of respect for the woman you married.
