Yes, Maven, I should've been more clear. I was using works word processor, and was able to open word documents by going into the file type and clicking on "word 98-2002 (.doc)" and it opened it just fine for me to read.

It was really important to me as I'll be getting information on discs that will be in word. I'm hoping that I won't have a problem.

I know that I've been asked to save works documents as txt and other files for other people to read more easily and didn't know how, and I know how to do that now in the processor as well.

Before I got this computer, I used only Word and wasn't familiar at all with file types, now I'm learning a tad.
