This is a common complaint about the generic produced by Barr or Teva (both are owned by the same company). These companies have a bad track record for many of the generics they produce. I have personally experienced the difference between their version of Concerta, and the brand name (I'm in Canada where Concerta is off patent). I had worked up to 54mg/day and it always like rolling the dice as to what effect I would get. Sometime I would feel nothing, other times I was extremely stimulated, unfocused, and just a mess. I switched to brand name and found I only needed 18mg/day and the drug performed like a time piece, I always knew what to expect.
If you're going to use generic, you have to avoid certain companies like Teva.
