I've been without one since last November, and trying to pretend that everything is ok. But the last couple of weeks have been really bad, and I've been working on getting someone that can meet my needs. Making phone call after phone call, getting referral on top of referral.
I REALLY need structure, and have never gotten enough of it in one-on-one therapy. A lot of therapists, even if they are trained in something like CBT, prefer to do talk therapy. I HAVE ENOUGH INSIGHT, THANK YOU VERY MUCH (er, sorry to shout, there). I need TOOLS to help me change. And someone to help me learn how to use them.
But I have an appointment with someone who actually DOES CBT and DBT, and things are looking up.
