There is nothing wrong with googling a therapist or any other professional or really anyone in general. The information is public. You are paying someone for a service that is lopsided and very personal. Wanting information on that person is not bad or odd or intrusive. It is a risk they assume when they decide they want to be a therapist for a living. Having them followed by a private detective, following them yourself, hanging out by their house, taking pictures of their children etc = to me all examples of going a bit far. But simply googling them on the internet is just not a big deal.
