Actually, the point to life is whatever you choose to make it; it is that choosing that transcends instinct. This is the same answer to the questions, "What is my purpose in life," and "What is the meaning of life," etc. It is each person's right and responsibility to define their own identity and determine their own life's point/purpose/meaning bit-by-bit by the philosophies they choose to embrace and manifest in their daily life through their thoughts, attitudes, words, and actions. As Viktor Frankl said,

"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."
