Hello, savealife, and welcome to PC. I'm sorry you're feeling so helpless and hopeless right now. I see you posted this yesterday morning - how are you feeling today? If you think you are in danger of hurting yourself, please call a family member, friend, and/or an ambulance and go to the nearest emergency room. Don't allow depression to push you into hurting yourself.

When you go to the hospital, don't expect the ER staff to counsel you, though. Their job is to assess your physical and psychological status, make certain that you are safe, and then they will get in touch with the appropriate mental healthcare professionals to come in, evaluate you, and establish a treatment plan - some smaller hospitals don't have psych professionals physically present 24/7. If you already have a therapist and/or psychiatrist, contact them immediately to let them know how you're feeling, and let them care for you in this crisis.

There are many good, kind, knowledgable, and experienced people here on PC who will give you whatever support they can, many of whom have been where you are right now. Sometimes just being able to get those words out is enough to make the depression take a step back.

Please let us know how you are doing today and what we can do to provide additional support while your healthcare professionals help you through this.lynn09
