my ex-husband was in a coma for 5 wks. afterward he proved by things he said, he's heard every word spoken to him, every song played for him and would react in his mind (i.e. attempt to answer) ... he never mentioned anything about feelings or awareness otherwise tho (i.e. knowing when he was being washed, shaved etc) ... sorry that's all the answer i have.
