I was on and off crutches because as I found out later I had torn the meniscus in my knee. Well the other girls believed that I was faking it so I started getting threatened constantly by my fellow platoon members. I was threatened with blanket parties constantly. I was told that I would be gotten in the showers, bathroom anywhere. I was constantly in fear of being beaten. The other girls would hide my crutches and just generally made my life a living hell. To this day I have flashbacks in the showers so I avoid them which I am not proud to admit. Did anyone else experience trauma at the hands of fellow soldiers?
I wasn't treated as rough but I did have a few run ins. Do you have a Vet Center near you. THey have counselors there that are veterans themselves and can help you with the issues. The VAMC is also a good place for help. The VA has a women's health section now. THere are many male and female vetrans that suffered at the hands of their fellow soldiers. So don't feel like you are alone out there.
Thanks for this!
