Yes.. it is their job, up to a point. but at some point the DID system breaks down (that's what's causing the upset in your life). How long do we allow the protector to "protect" us from a life that isn't working? Yes it is scary to face... and protector helps us avoid more pain. but do we want to live the next 30 years in this much pain? I sure don't.
