i am not sure that the body craves . . . i think it's the mind that craves various foods. sometimes, i crave healthy foods when my diet has been poor. other times, especially when i'm stressed, i crave comfort foods. i have heard of stories where people craved foods that helped them overcome deficiencies in their blood or muscles. but, a lot of cravings are for unhealthy foods too. i think that ultimately, you have to decide if the cravings are for foods that you actually should be consuming and if the craving to consume them is in safe quantities.
