Yes, I've had dreams where I'm doing something that takes so much effort that it wakes me up. I can't remember offhand a dream where I felt a lot of pain, but the effort part really rings a bell. I probably have dreams like this once or twice a year. Sometimes they're nightmares and very scary, other times I'm just working really hard at something. But yeah, I think the effort wakes me up.
