It is hard to get a referral to a psychiatrist unless you are at significant risk of harm and even then it can take a few weeks to be given an appointment.

This is the only pdoc locally that I have found who will take self referrals, so there is not a huge choice, just crossing my fingers that he is good.

First impressions are positive - he offered me an appointment within 3 days as he said he hates waiting lists......trying not to let that negative bit of me tell me it is because he is desperate for the money
