I found my doctor not very helpful. I asked for a referral to a register dietitian. I found this to be more helpful.
I am also reading a book on mindful eating.
It is a slow and painful process. I feel, too often, that I failed, but I keep going weekly to see the dietitian. In 2 months, I have lost only 5 lbs. But, as she said, I lost it the healthy way and I am developping better eating habits. If I continue, after a year I will loose 30 lbs, half of what I need too. So I am in it for long term...
