You raise an excellent question. I was just thinking about that recently actually. There are other 12 step programs (for eating issues, children of alcoholics, codependents, and many others) where sponsors can be found. Not sure any of those fit for you though. I went to a non addiction 12 step program in my early 20s and found a sponsor and some support for my depression and other issues. And it sounds like you feel like you need a mentor/friend you can call when you are struggling? I understand that for sure, and I hope you are able to find someone in your life to talk to.
