Hi U important,
The first time I was given that style of homework, I was not ready. I did not know how it could relate to me. Let's say my medication and ability to cope made the homework 'triggering'.

With a new T and a slightly different style I can do these exercises as it is with the technique of using mindfulness that is important.
Not the content or the list of distortions. When I made up my own list I had over 20.

Previously the homework page with of of all the catagories of distortions, and without lessons on how to steer, it felt like I was given car keys for the first time and had to drive on the freeway and across the country.
I did not get out of the driveway. . It did not make sense.

New therapist and using mindfulness techniques, is like learning to drive around the block a few times, and getting comfortable with the process before going on a road trip. Once you have mastered some of the basics you can go anywhere.

Now that I have been around the block a few times with the guidence of the therapist, I can notice my own distortions in thinking or my beliefs and I can work on them without fear of going off the road. It makes sense now.

The homework I am given now is what you described and it is NOW a very useful tool. I can work at my thinking from a systematic as well as what is important for me.

all the best on your journey
