I have only "become" a bear before :-) but I did dream once that my dead mother was not dead but had been in a hospital for these 50+ years, I had only been told she was dead. It was the emotions surrounding that, my feeling of betrayal by others and my anger, and my sense of loss in that situation that were important to look at for me, rather than the person itself and whether they were really alive or dead.
