Well, sometimes depression is not about what is happening externally in your life. I have 2 great children, a supportive wife, a job I like, etc... and I still have depressive periods of my life. Sometimes it is just chemical... There's a name for depression that is about chemical stuff and not events in your life, but I forget at the moment.

And it does take sometimes a while for meds to kick in fully, I've heard up to 4-6 weeks for some people. The fact that you aren't crying may be a sign that they are beginning to work. Also, unfortunately, sometimes you have to try different meds until you find the right one. I hope that is not the case here and that you start feeling better! And while I can't answer the question about whether you will ever feel normal again, I do know that most depression is treatable and gets better with medication, therapy, or both. I have depression, but when on medication and not in some kind of life crisis I feel mostly normal...

I'm glad you are here and hope you keep posting. If you ever want to talk more I'm always happy to listen. Take care and thanks for posting this!
