Two of my grandmothers never drove ~ both either relied upon the bus or rides from others, and I remember thinking "how strange" when I was a child. Fortunately, my grandmother's didn't have any disabilities at that point of their lives, they just never wanted to be behind the wheel. That was the strange part to me, that they had no desire to drive.
