True enough, but OP was explicitly addressing how to combat mental illness, and saying that therapy and pharmaceuticals rarely, maybe never, work to do so. I'm just saying that I doubt many (any) of us are qualified to make that generalization with any teeth to it. And I think that many would disagree with OP's assertion, especially given the forum's focus.
But absolutely, if someone wants to say "all shrinks are x" and doesn't see a problem with that point of view, why would they want to or need to seek help from a therapist? On the other hand, if that kind of attitude prevents someone from seeking out a source of help that could be beneficial, that seems less of a good idea. But as always, it's up to the person in question to decide.
