Hello all and thanks for the warm welcome! I'd like to take some time and tell you a little about myself.

I received my BA in Music Performance - Cello in 1995 and am now back in school working on my pharmacy doctorate. I've always had a great interest in psychological physiology and pharmacology and have been studying them personally for the past 14 years.

As you can guess, my focus is on psychiatric pharmacology - the main reason being that I have been battling Major Depression - "treatment-resistant" and Generalized Anxiety Disorder for about 14 years. I've endured - like many of you - countless medication trials and combinations including ECT and the Vegal Nerve Stimulator (or VNS implant) that was/is produced & marketed by Cyberonics (www.cyberonics.com).

Mental illness runs through my family - with my grandfather, mother and younger brother having OCD and both grandmothers, father and younger sister having anxiety/panic disorders and depression. (Both my grandparents are deceased however).

Also, I just want you to know that I am in no way affiliated with any pharmaceutical company and I am NOT a doctor. So I always try to remind people in my posts to contact their doctor and/or discuss options with their doctor. None of my advice is intended to replace any diagnosis or treatment (including dosages, dosing intervals, etc) from your doctor.
