My son suffered from a manic episode in May 2004. It seemed to come from out of the blue. We got him on medication (zyprexa) and he stayed on it for a year. He has now been medication free for over a year and seems to be doing really well. He holds down a full time job and lives with his girlfriend. We hope this continues. There are happy ending stories.
