Dark Eyes,
It's about self-understanding. That's what you might get. It might help you understand why you react to certain things the way you do.
Of course I didn't "get" any of it (or care to) until much later in life.
I took the test, got my score, was sent to a three day conference that taught me part of the success in management was being able to develop listening skills and how to take into consideration that an ESTJ will think and work differently than and ISTP and that you need to consider their "personality" when working with each other.
As part of our "homework" we had to to sit with the managers who worked for us and explain what we'd learned and have them take a mini quiz to see what "letters" they were.
Then we could start to have a better understanding of how each other's minds worked once we knew that mary Jo would never respond to my hyperness because that was not her personality.
Me being a ESTJ, set out to change them, lol.(I want to stress that the results will be slightly different outside the work environment)I made copies of what "my" personality was and handed them out so that they may understand why I couldn't tolerate their ineptness or their SLOW approach to things....LOL.
I, of course, expected them to adapt to me. I did finally learn and grow and that's what it's really about. Self-understanding.
I am so glad I mellowed over the years.
