Don't feel bad -- I call myself "invisible" cause that's how I feel most of the time if I'm with a group. Seems like they always talked about things i have no experience in, like college. I never went to college -- I'm just a high school graduate. My folks didn't have the money for college and i didn't have good enough grades for scholarships, grants, etc. Plus they'd talk about all the places they've been -- heck, I'm lucky if I got 30 miles from home. LOL So how do you add to conversations like that? LOL
I found that I'm better off on a one-on-one situation or at the most with two other people that I know WELL. That way I don't get left out, and I feel more comfortable.
I'm sorry you had a bad evening. I've had plenty of them but I'm not going to put myself in that situation anymore. God bless and take care. Hugs, Lee
