I have studied MBTI for many years, I have an MA in counseling ( but i am not a counselor now) One of the things that really impressed me, is that unlike other tests, this one really empowers the individual to decide what type fits them the most, instead of being handed a dx by a professional. It's a total life philosophy.
Once i learned about my (and others) types, it enabled me to quickly understand lots of folks and why they thought i was weird.
The more you read about MBTI the more interesting it gets. There are 2 good bookks; "Please Understand Me" and , for career interests "DO what You Are" by Barbara Baron Tieger.

This is really the only personality system that I give any credence to, since it has shown so much reliability in my life. Plus your Type changes over a lifetime, so it is developmentally relevant, too.

I love the metaphor that an INFP is a "fur coat turned inside out". All the warm fuzzies are held close, and revealed to our dearest ones.
