That's the mistake I made going in.....I'd taken several online bipolar quizzes, and of course being an RN, I tend to think I can diagnose myself. So when I went in for my first pdoc appointment, I handed him the printouts of the quizzes and told him that's what I thought was wrong with me.

Now, looking back and knowing my pdoc like I do now, I'm surprised he didn't laugh me out of the office.......it's probably because I did turn out to have BP. But, not every mood swing is due to bipolar, and bipolar isn't just about mood swings. The only person who can really tell you the difference is a competent mental health specialist, either a psychiatrist or a psychiatric nurse practitioner.
