It is the supreme duty of parents, relatives, friends, and society at large to provide an environment of protective safety around them until they have learned how everything works and how to take care of themselves: body, mind, spirit.

I survived my home environment by babysitting my butt off. I have been fortunate in witnessing child development up close and personal: For those of you who don't know, baby boys get erections very early on in life. I had NO idea the first time I saw one..... holy moley guacamole, will you look at that, his Mom and I stood side by side amazed at this biological happening, standing there in miniature before our very eyes.
