best thing i have been told to help lose weight is to eat like a king at breakfast, a princess at lunch and a pauper at supper and never eat after 6pm. this way you kick start your metabolism early in the day giving it longer to work before it slows down in the evening. big meals late at night stay in your stomach all night giving longer for fats to be absorbed.

oat cakes are a great substitute to bread as they keep you full for ages, herb and seed ones are great on their own, so do not need a topping which cuts down your calorie intake.

try substituting meat for prawns or mussles in stirfrys, curries etc as these are much less calorific and still give the sense of having meat

try poached fish rather than coated fried fish

try chopping a selection of root veg into chunky fingers, place in a food bag, add a drop of oil, shake, lift out the fingers onto a pre heated baking tray and oven cook till soft inside and crispy on the outside for healthy chips/fries

sugar free jello and fruit is a great low cal dessert or to stop the sweet cravings

if you really can't give up the chocolate bars chop them into bite size chunks and freeze them, the time it takes for one chunk to defrost in your mouth and be eaten is enough time for your brain to register the craving has been satisfied, so you end up eating much less.

may seem strange but pureed veg or veg soup takes longer to break down than chunky veg, not sure how or why but it works, so try making some veg soup, (not with cream) and have a bowl or cup full before you eat, you will eat less as your brain will register your tummy is full quicker lessening the chance of over eating and the soup fills you for longer than the meal preventing you from feeling hungry too soon.

keep any not so healthy snacks in a plastic box in the garage or garden shed, it makes you really consider whether you really want to go outside to get one!
Thanks for this!
