You bet. I have three friends. One is normal. The other one has sex addiction issues and brain damage. The other has a history of schizophrenia and must take his medication or lose his mind. But, I haven't trouble with normal people because my odd negative thinking tends to get a "you shouldn't think that way" response from normal people. It is only people with mental issues that can understand that I can't turn into a positive thinker over night. Perhaps, your willingness to accept others encourages the "weirdos" to become your friends. I also live in downtown and ride the bus which increases my exposure to people on social security disability and they are more likely as I said to accept a weirdo like me.
