Sad to say, we can have times we feel it's gone. . .we are well, an it's all gone.
But, no, it doesn't go away, but staying with meds, compliancy, keeping pdoc and T appt's. can keep it all at bay, even be episode free.
Reality is, if we need meds for stability, even if it's life long, but yet feel we don't, we do, okay?
If not and one can go through the rest of their life, episode free, no matter how mild they may be, then I feel the person was never truly Bipolar, but misdiagnosed or self-diagnosed, manipulating some GP to medicate for a mis DX of this disorder.
Just my personal take, and mean no offense to anyone.
Being DXed by a mental health professional (hopefuly a pdoc) as having Bipolar disorder, needs medication stabilization and monitoring to achieve any success.
Just my 2 cents.
