What kind of 'friends' are these that they'd tell you such things?  How does your husband really treat you? Is he abusive? Did you ever suspect he felt like this? It doesn't SOUND like it.
I think I'd ASK my husband about this, and see if this is the way he REALLY feels -- or if his "friends" are just trying to cause trouble. If you never suspected he felt this way, he must be a good actor! Sit him down and have a talk! You need to know the truth.
