I think it's pretty stupid that with all the talk of ending the stigma to mental illness, there are still mental health professionals that seem to go along with stigma about that specific disorder.
I mean I certainly would not want to be misdiagnosed with it, but if someone really does have I'd be sad to think they have to suffer that kind of treatment from mental health professionals who are supposed to be helping.
Anyways to the OP, next time you need help I'd try and find somewhere else...I mean they can't really go tell every therapist and mental health professional to stick with their diagnoses or attitutude towards you. Just know they have no excuse for it, and I would think you have the right to refuse treatment unless you were a danger to yourself or others and got committed to a psych ward and are in their care in which case you'd have to wait till they release you. But otherwise if they recommended therapy you have every right to reject it...and if you want you can seek help from other places or therapists or whatever.
