Some of the recent discussion about work makes me wonder if I will be able to qualify for unemployment benefits soon. I had requested that my time at work be able to accomodate my time needed off for appointments, explaining that I could work at least 80% of the work week. In my job we don't have to explain why we are taking off, but my principal knows there is a medical need. She does not know about the bipolar diagnosis. She said that I would need to work my given job or not at all because there isn't a position to accommodate my needs.
Will I be able to get unemployment benefits when my contract is finished? I am not going to be rehired. We work with a contract each year. I am in North Carolina.
