I don't know your BF and I don't know your relationship.
But is it possible the "I can't take much more of this" simply means he is worried about you? It doesn't necessarily mean that he doesn't want to listen. He might be able to "take more of his" if he understood you better.
What I'm trying to say is, talking to BF might help.
