I was just friends with a blind student and I think that was helpful to her. Maybe you could make yourself a little support system, have your own friends in each class that might help with studying with you/making sure you have notes and get to class, etc.? If it is a residential university (like I went to), I was in a dorm and I think my friend lived off campus/at home and it was great she knew me because she had a friendly place to "go" sometimes in between classes, etc.
