Traditionally, a snake is a phallic symbol. Phallic doesn't necessarily mean penis; it means power. So I would guess something with power seems threatening to you. Of course, green as a color is a fertility symbol. Are you a man or a woman? I am a woman, and I used to have dreams like this when I was ovulating.
