It's overwhelming when I think of all I have to get done so I shut down and end up doing nothing...so the way I counter that is to break the chores down into many small tasks. I can handle one small task usually and then I feel better about myself when it's done because I've accomplished something. I limit myself to one task per weekend usually and that helps. Like last weekend I cleaned out my car, and the weekend before I organized the hall closet, etc...
