here in NY, USA there is "normal" dissociation. if you were here in NY what you posted would fall in the category of normal highway dissociation. here it is believed that everyone has times when they are either driving or riding in a vehicle and they space off or their mind wanders to thoughts other than the driving/ride.

there are ways to combat this kind of dissociation..

such as grounding (other locations call this mindfulness). When my wife and I are on long trips we take with us a bag of candy, fruits, CD's... we use these to bring us back to the present moment any time one or the other starts clipping into highway dissociation.

Some people roll their windows down because the breeze helps keep them focused and aware.
